006: Screamo

Here are some really great Screamo records that I love.

YOU AND I - THE CURTAIN FALLS - Level Plane. 1999

This is the final recording from this New Jersey Screamo band, and in my opinion their most diverse, intense music today. The band seems to go to new lengths on this record, and it sure delivers.

Track list:
01. Tell Me About Your Childhood
02. Broc Landers And The Mustang Candy Cake
03. Playing Off The Story
04. 143
05. I Think I Know Where Elvis Lives
06. Pulse
07. Threading A Needle
08. Two Down, One To Go

PG.99 - DOCUMENT #8 - Robotic Empire. 2001

This is one of my favorite release's in Pg. 99's HUGE catalog. I think at this point the band was now an 8-piece. Such an intense and important band to the shape of this style of Screamo.

Track list:
01. In Love With An Apparition
02. Your Face Is A Rape Scene
03. Life In A Box
04. We Left As Skeletons
05. Punk Rock In The Wrong Hands
06. Ballad Of Circling Vultures
07. The Hollowed Out Chest Of A Dead Horse

THE NOW - THE NOW - Robotic Empire. 2002?

Six tracks in nine minutes is all this band ever put out, but it is still one of my favorite screamo releases ever. I can't explain how many elements of punk, screamo and hardcore this band combines to make something like I have yet to ever hear repeated. Blistering.

Track list:
01. We Don't Call Him Columbine....
02. Come On, All The Girls I Know Throw Up
03. Thrill Fuckers (You Broke My Heart But I Kinda Got Off To It)
04. Is That Me, No It's The Other Guy With Twenty Arms
05. Who Is This 'Jawns' I Keep Hearing About
06. She's Heroin

Thanks!

Great post, thanks for these. pg99 got pegged as a gimmick band, which was too bad because they put out some of the craziest/best records.
